Hello! This website describes my activities early in 2012. I have been retired for over two years now, busy with book writing and talking about my canoeing books and travel, and doing some occasional consultancy work. My work on both the SCA and BCU boards, plus several charity boards and management committees keep me busy. Scotland is still wonderful to live in, the one home country in the U.K. with sensible access laws and a Parliament and Government it is possible to talk to. The perfect place for outdoor activities.
After 30 years of sailing on the west coast of Scotland and further afield, and owning a boat for 10 years, I sold ‘True Blue’ in 2011. Sad to see her go, but there is so much else to do!
I live in Angus, a beautiful part of Scotland between Dundee and Aberdeen, which is very rural, and has a great micro-climate, giving us usually great weather – dry and sunny. I live with my partner Ellie, and have two grown-up children, Lucy and William, who live in England. We moved to Scotland to be near wonderful scenery and lots of outdoor activities
We meet up with my two brothers and their wives once a year, as they live in the south of England
