Hi! – This website describes my varied activities at the end of 2009. I am lucky to be mostly retired, doing some occasional consultancy work, continuing to write, and giving talks about my books. I am so lucky to live in Scotland, the one home country in the U.K. with sensible access law, and a wonderful country for outdoor activities.

I live in Angus, a beautiful part of Scotland between Dundee and Aberdeen, which is very rural, and has a great micro-climate, giving us usually great weather – dry and sunny. I live with my partner Ellie, and have two grown-up children, Lucy and William, who live in England. We moved to Scotland to be near wonderful scenery and lots of outdoor activities
